Really, I don’t see this as being that confusing. But hey, maybe people are just getting bogged down by all of the lettering!
New York (NY) - Cable and satellite TV providers that pair digital video recorders (DVRs) with their services will boost DVR penetration to 47 percent of US households by 2010, and significantly boost consumer adoption of DTV, states a Jupiter Research report.
While the report projects only 12 percent of households currently have DVRs installed, the tremendous growth will come anyway, despite what the report acknowledges to be current consumer confusion about the technology. The report paints a picture of DVR as an advance over the “time-shifting” functionality of current technology–the ability to watch shows later–making DVR, in effect, the new VCR. [Read the rest]
