As an owner of a Averatec myself, the following article caught my eye. The only gripe I have with their notebooks is that they become entirely too hot too fast.
Averatec has a new ultra-portable laptop. It features an Intel� Pentium� M ULV 733 (1.1GHz), 10.6″ WXGA with AveraBrite�, DVD+CD-RW, Hard Drive - 80 GB, 512MB DDR, Wireless LAN 802.11b/g, and USB (2x) 2.0. All this packed into just 10.47″ x 7.97″ x 1.16″ and weighing it at only 3.6 lbs. I’ve already seen these at CompUSA for $999. I currently own one of their 12 inch models and love it. I stopped using my PPC when I bought the last model because it was just small enough that I could carry it easily in my bag. This new model looks even better. [Get the links]
