Slick and it can save you money! The AcuLaser C2600 printer looks as if we can finally work at getting a handle on those ink costs. Described as convertible, you can use this to convert from mono to color printing in a snap!
Epson’s new AcuLaser C2600 series is unique in that it allows you to switch between mono or colour printing by simply changing the colour toner cartridges. Part of Epson’s key strategy to increase its market share in the business workspace, the AcuLaser C2600 series is relatively fast too, offering print speeds of up to 30ppm in mono and 7.5ppm in colour. Shipping as standard with a 350MHz processor and 64MB RAM (512MB maximum), the printer also has a relatively large paper capacity of 650 sheets as standard (expandable up to 1150 sheets), backlit LCD, and Hi-Speed USB, parallel and network connectivity as standard. The major benefit of the ‘convertible’ design is that it allows organisations to purchase a monochrome printer that can be used to print colour as and when needed. The design also allows black-and-white prints to continue processing even when a colour toner is empty. If you don’t need colour, the AcuLaser 2600 N (£379 ex. VAT) is a new monochrome-only model.
