ATI top-end GPUs to win back ‘channel leadership’

To me, this is just more proof that ATI has no intention of letting Nvidia maintain the firm hold on the GPU market. While ATI needs to hurry up get their latest GPU out on the shelves, at least they are moving forward with it.

ATI’s next-generation desktop graphics processor, R520, has already been claimed to have been scheduled for a June launch, but a leaked channel roadmap suggests we can expect to see the RV530 following not long after and the RV515 in the Autumn.

If the presentation slide - which is marked with the slogan “Regaining channel leadership”, implying ATI has lost it - containing the roadmap is accurate and up to date, ATI’s high-end chips will sport twin PCI Express and AGP interfaces. ATI currently offers separate versions of its Radeon X850 chips with either the old or the new interconnect technology.
