Wouldn’t be cool to drop a rough 7 large on a new HDTV set? Well if you are one of those lucky people out there, you might want to check out this review for this set from InFocus. Definitely not a set to be overlooked, this puppy has a lot going for it. To get all the details though, you might want to read the review for yourself.
Right off the bat, the 61md10 offers up cutting edge connectivity for an HDTV, starting with its CableCard slot, and continuing on to its RJ-45 jack for Internet connectivity. CableCard will be come increasingly commonplace on HDTVs over the next year, but for now it remains a rare fixture on HDTVs we’ve been seeing here in our lab. The 61md10 also has two DTV Link (1394) jacks, allowing it to connect with home theaters receivers that use that I/O. It also has a native HDMI port to interface directly with cable/satellite boxes that use that I/O. However, it does lack VGA and DVI ports, so connecting a home theater PC (HTPC) could be problematic, unless your graphics card has component video output.
Another nice touch is the addition of an optical S/PDIF output that can pass through the digital audio stream from the incoming HDMI connection to your home theater receiver. This is particularly useful since only recent, high-end home theater receivers can do HDMI switching.
