Hmm, this new Sony DVD station could be just the ticket from what I am reading here at CDFreaks.com. Apparently, it comes with a 7 inch TFT screen, adapter for the cigarette lighter and is most definitely portable enough for just about any need.
Sony Europe has announced the launch of a new portable DVD player for 2005 – The Sony MV-700HR. Sporting a new portable concept, different from current laptop syles, the Sony screen faces out, taking up less space and provides a convenient new way to watch movies on the go. It comes in 2 colors, silver and black with a 7 inch TFT screen. The unit has a couple other nice touches including: Theft secured car cradle, with a one button attach/detachability. Fancy IR transmission to headphone, for use with optional MV-02HP headphone, so no annoying wires, neat.
Supplied with an AC adaptor for in-home use, a car lighter adaptor is an available option for when you are on the road. You can even purchase an optional battery the MV-100BAT, which can add up to 3 hours battery life. In addition to reading regular DVD movies it’s also compatible with DivX compressed video. It can accept CD-R and MP3 files, which allows it to double as a nice music player as well. The player features a Memory Stick slot (no surprise) which is another way to carry your MP3 files or jpeg pictures.
