Motorola MPx220 - Microsoft sponsored Motorola bashing

  • No Related Post

It’s nice to see that corporate hatred is not dead! It seems that Microsoft does not dig Motorola too much, or do they? I guess it is all matter of perception. Anyway, the Motorola MPx220 is just not the intuitive. Well, at least that is what the word on the street.

Jorgen Sundgot got Motorola MPx220 cellphone for free, as a gift, when he was participating in Microsoft-sponsored (Microsoft paid for traveling, lodging and gifts) Mobius 2004 USA invite-only conference. While this review still doesn’t feature original photos, that are usually essential part of professional reviews, it is however, surprisingly, a very good and in-depth review!

Having corrected several mistakes made by its predecessor, the MPx220 now delivers better battery life, a more responsive user experience, improved connectivity support and suitable amounts of memory. Unfortunately, usability and ergonomics issues abound, audio is barely adequate, and output from the megapixel camera is outright abysmal. Still, the MPx220 carries out the vast majority of its core functions with aplomb, and does so with a reasonable price tag.
