Pocket PC Techs Now Offering Axim X50v 128MB Upgrade

Go ahead! Give that Dell Axim X50v a RAM upgrade. Now before you say that it cannot be done , keep reading. According to Pocket PC thoughts, it actually can be done.

Apparently Dell is offering the upgrade to 128MB for a price if you are interested. The really great part is that the upgrade does not require any proprietary drivers at all. Nice!

“Upgrade your Dell Axim X50v series internal RAM from 64MB to 128MB with our upgrade service. During the upgrade process we remove the existing 64MB and install 128MB. This memory upgrade does NOT require our proprietary driver and is fully recognized by the OS (125.74MB Available). This unit uses low voltage hi-speed BGA memory, so stacking is not available and 128MB will be the maximum capacity.”

It’s $199 for those of you willing to spend the money and void your warranty. I’m sure one of you hard-core types are going to order this nevertheless…
