Radio Shack is beginning to come out of its funk with a lot of cool devices recently. Take the Axion portable LCD TV/DVD combo for instance. Very sleek, fairly portable and definitely a must have.

Taking DVDs with you certainly got a lot easier thanks to this device. Now before you say ‘big deal’, check this out. This is a full blown TV set. This is not just another DVD player for the car. You can actually watch up to 181 channels right there when you want it. Now that is pretty cool.

Axion, a developer of portable LCD televisions, announced today they are selling a new 10.2″ color LCD TV/DVD player combo exclusively through Radio Shack. The portable 16-3609, retailing for $399, is a tablet style device which uses ultra thin LCD display technlology and can play DVDs, CDs (including ones with MP3s) and photo CDs. It is 181 channel cable ready, has built-in stereo speakers, a stereo headphone jack and comes with a carrying bag and remote control. Power can be supplied on the road via an included car power adapter.
