Going old school, hardware style!

We have all heard the expression, ‘hacking old school’. But have you ever seen real life examples of hardware hacking dating back as early as the 1960s? I bet you have not. Well folks, you are in for a treat today. I am going to introduce you to a site that has catalogued tons of older hardware devices from years past.

They range from video Synthesizers to audio Synthesizer. You will find some really bizarre treasures on this site. I must admit that my all time favorite was the ANIMAC dating back to 1962.

If you know of any Video Synthesizers or related items that are not listed (or if you have built something in this realm yourself), of for that matter have ANY INFO AT ALL, please CONTRIBUTE it!
- A big thank you to DAN SLATER, DAVID JONES & Jeffrey Siedler for their extensive contributions to this area!

Video Synthesizers usually refer to analog devices from the early ’70s driven by oscillators, similar to analog audio synthesizers. They create and modify video in realtime. Click on headers for detailed descriptions and pictures.
