Unique to the core, the ASUS Radeon X600 XT Extreme is a card this as cool as it is different. As a matter of fact, that seemed to be the going feeling I got as I read this review from VR-Zone Hardware.
Just like with anything from ASUS, the card was done well and it was done well the first time around. It has been my experience that ASUS puts out a good product. Judging from what VR-Zone Hardware came up with in their final conclusion, I would say that they have discoved this to be true as well.
The ASUS Radeon X600 XT Extreme is just another indication that the engineers at ASUS know what it takes to stay one step ahead of the competition in the graphics card industry. Today we’ve had the chance to take a long, hard look at the ASUS Radeon X600 XT Extreme, and for the most part we were left with a positive feeling about the card.
First we have to talk about performance. As expected, the ASUS Radeon X600 XT Extreme performs almost identically to the reference ATI Radeon X600 XT we tested with it, all the while just obliterating the Albatron PCX 5750. ATI’s new Catalyst 4.10 driver with AI enabled helps increase frame rates in Doom 3 and Unreal Tournament 2004, but does not effect any other games we tested today.
