“Roamio, Roamio. Where art thou Roamio?” OK, the spelling is off there. In actuality it is the Roamio disposable digital still and video camera that I am art thou seeking…or something like that. According to ABC.net, this killer contraption has the potential to store 24 still pictures and 10 minutes of digital video footage.
Now that is impressive for a device that can be tossed after you are done using it! Made with plastic and relatively small, I would consider trying this out if the opportunity presented itself. The features are not that spectacular, then again 1.3 mega pixels for a throw away camera is not too shabby though.
The camera produces 24 still pictures at 1.3 mega pixels and the video footage is VHS quality. Using the latest technology through alliances with Samsung, Omnivision and Sunplus, the camera delivers enhanced auto iris adjustment, auto white balance, flash, in-built audio recording and exposure compensation. A state of the art glass lens ensures high quality images.
The Roamio is powered by a 3 Volt battery and has 64MB of memory. Processing labs can easily access stills & video data contained in an internal soldered circuit board, via a hidden connection on the skin of the Roamio.
