Sony unit to pay $82M to San Jose company

Looks like Sony made a mistake with the choice of force-feedback technology for their controllers. Yup, they were sued by Immersion for not getting permission to use this technology, which Immersion just happens to have the rights to.
Immersion Corp. said Wednesday a jury ordered Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and its U.S. unit to pay $82 million in a patent infringement case. The unit, Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc., is based in Foster City and has a branch in Santa Monica. Sony Computer Entertainment is a division of Tokyo-based Sony Corp.
