This is almost too funny. The Motion Picture Association of America announced that during a routine traffic stop, the cops managed to break up a DVD piracy ring. The part that found so humorous was that they were simply pulled over for a simple moving violation, nothing more. Then the movie pirates managed to get themselves busted with little effort on the cops part. Priceless!

The Motion Picture Association of America said Thursday that a routine traffic stop in Los Angeles led to a DVD counterfeit ring, and the confiscation of 12,000 counterfeit discs.

The LAPD was “supported by MPAA investigators,” according to the agency. Police routinely stopped a driver for expired registration tags, where they were subsequently led to an apartment where the discs were being copied.
