Boy, looks to me like hardware manufacturers are really pumping up the jam before the holidays! Just read an article stating that Iomega just completed a total redesign of their external hard drive line. New features, better design, sounds like something that I will have to take a closer look at.

The CD is king

Well it’s official according to The Register, CDs are still the dominant musical media in Europe even with the rise in downloaded music. Personally, I think that both CDs and digital downloads play into each others hands. I believe that CD sales will continue to be successful for a long time to come.

NVIDIA GeForce 6 Series GPUs Achieve Top 3DMark05 Score

The GeForce 6 Series GPUs are really making points according to a recent press release from NVIDIA. The release goes on to say that NVIDIA’s card earned the impressive score of Score of 7229 in a benchmark done by 3DMark05.

HD-DVD Standard Earns Approval

So, the next generation of DVDs is already on its way it would seem. Just take a look at the DVD Forum’s approval of the disc specifications for the rewritable version of HD-DVDs. To me, it looks like we will be seeing these puppies in stores sooner than later.

Well it looks like those crazy-cool 16x double-layer DVD drives are shipping from Iomega as expected. Best part is, there is a choice to meet your needs. This is a really decent approach to take when targeting such a wide market. Smart, very smart indeed.
