Well, not really. Twitter is filling up with #Gmail posts though and there’s been quite a few postings on Facebook about it as well. What does that mean? It probably means that we’ll be seeing a story on this on CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC within the next hour or so. What this event, and it will probably be resolved by the time I post this, shows is how dependent we are on electronic mail in our daily lives. Perhaps the worst hit by this outage will be the small businesses that use Gmail for business as a way to save costs. I never thought this was a particularly good idea because Google has no way for consumers to get in touch with any sort of tech support. They have a forum you can search through for answers, if the answer isn’t there… you might be out of luck.
In the end, this will pass. It isn’t like Google is going to dump Gmail because of this. In a couple of hours, maybe even minutes, Gmail will be back up and running and everyone can calm back down. Those that panicked and cluttered Twitter with posts complaining about the service will be able to look back on this time fondly as yet another occasion where services like Twitter became useful again - though not for that long.

I am more panicked. All my viruses(living white collar information thieves and obstructors by ruthlessness) could not gain free flowing access to my privacy for the last some hours,. I might face their punishment by false claims in some system. C’est La Vie.
