While performing i really hate when i hit notes and they buzz. I looked into this a bit further and it seems the solution is really quite simple. A biggie is keeping the nails on your left hand short! The frets on the guitar are not very high off the neck so if your nail gets in the way you may not be able to press the string down completely, causing it to buzz against a few frets lower down the neck.Buzzing also occurs when you do not place your finger directly in the middle of the two frets; always aim to press down straight on the string in the middle of the frets. Following these tips your notes should start to clear up a bit.

In tabs, picking direction is generally indicated by “^” or “v” It is pretty obvious which way you pick the string, ^ being upwards and v being downwards. It gets a bit more complicated when there is a certain pattern, like ^^v^^vv^ on one string. Picking patterns are generally made so that it fits the timing best, making it easier. Why play twinkle twinkle with your pinkie finger when you can use I and M. (More on that later if you don’t know what I’m talking about.) The patterns just make playing the song easier and can add cool effects to the music.

Hi there, in this post I am going to teach you how to tune your guitar by using harmonics. First of all, I would like to tell you that I have been playing classical guitar for a bit over 11 years, since I was about 4.5 years old. Using this method you are going to have to match pitches, so you need to have a good ear for it. After a while you should become accustomed to matching the harmonic and string.

To start off you need to tune your A string.

To tune your low E string, you hit the 5th fret harmonic on the low E followed by the 7th harmonic of the A string. Match these pitches.

To tune your D string, you hit the 5th fret harmonic on the A string followed by the 7th harmonic of the D string. Match these pitches.

To tune your G string, you hit the 5th fret harmonic on the D string followed by the 7th harmonic of the G string. Match these pitches.

Now it gets switched up for the B and high E string. To tune the B string, you hit the 7th fret harmonic on the low E string and open B, match these pitches. For high E you do the same but with the 7th fret A harmonic.

This is the only way I tune my guitars, both classical and electric.
