iPhone 3G Users Are Way Behind

Like a lot of people, I don’t have a new iPhone, nor do I plan to get one anytime soon. With the 2.0 update, I have access to all of the same apps and features that the 3g users have. (Well, except the GPS, but I already have one in my car, and honestly where else are you really ever going to use one?)

I’ve had my itouch for a couple of months, and like a lot of people, I jailbroke it in the first week. In case you don’t know, once you jailbreak your iPhone or itouch, you get access to something called the installer.app, a special feature that let people download free apps to use looooong before the app store was put online.

Interestingly, a number of the more popular apps have made their way over to app store. What’s weird is the fact that people who just got their new iPhone for the first time, or were too afraid to jailbreak, are just now discovering ‘old’ apps. Gadgets and toys that we were impressed by and got bored of now have a second life.

It’s great to see these apps in newer forms, but it’s pretty annoying watching someone show you everything all over again!! The worst part is when they act like they were the first to discover it! You got the new WordPress app? Great, only I’ve had a blog app for only a couple off MONTHS now! Just got that Twitter app, Twinkle? Had it.

Don’t get me wrong, I welcome the app store with open arms. It’s just you want to strangle someone who’s just finishing their 20th glass of iPint Beer! Was I that annoying with it when I first got it?
