Hacked: Google, Yahoo, MSN, Microsoft, AND Hotmail

  • No Related Post

Google, Yahoo, MSN, Microsoft, AND Hotmail were all victims of a “SQL Injection vulnerability” this morning, when a group of hackers known as ‘The Peace Crew’ (formally ‘Terrorist Crew’) managed to deface all of their Puerto Rico based sites.

The principal Peace Crew character is a hacker known as Agd_Scorp, allegedly of Turkish origin. Others prominent members are rx5 and Cr@zy_King.

While the hackers didn’t break into their servers themselves, they managed to modify the DNS records by hacking a poorly guarded DNS/Name Server. They were then able to redirect all of those domains to their own pages. The hackers pages clearly bloated that they were successful (Example Mirrors: Google.com.pr, Yahoo.com.pr, Microsoft.com.pr), but should the sites had been replaced with clones set to steal information from users, a much larger issue would have been introduced.

The pages have since been fixed.
