If you have been thinking about getting a Mac, maybe this will encourage you to buy one this summer. As part of a special Back-To-School promotion, Apple will give you a free iPod touch if you buy a new Mac this summer. In order to qualify for the free iPod touch (8 GB model) you have to buy your Mac and iPod touch on the same receipt. Apple will then send you a $299 rebate for the iPod touch, making it free.
You can also buy a larger (and more expensive) model, and just apply the $299 rebate towards that. Sadly, the deal is only good for the iPod touch, and not the iPhone…
Also, the deal doesn’t include the cheaper Mac minis, or the lowest level iMac. (the 17′ model)
The sale runs from today, June 3, through September 15. Not a half bad deal eh?
And don’t forget, if you’re a student, make sure you check out Apple’s student discount program. If your school qualifies, you can knock off a few more bucks of the price tag of a Mac.
