Axiotron Inc, managed to steal the show at the 2007 Macworld Conference & Expo when they unveiled their upcoming modified MacBook Pro. Axiotron announced that they were developing a Tablet version of the MacBook Pro, which was scheduled to go on sale in March 2007. March came and went, and nothing was released, due to a shortage of crucial parts needed to make the tablet. On January 01, 2008, the ModBook, as it’s titled, was finally released for purchase.
Ranging in price between $2,279.00 to $2,479.00 (depending if you get a 2.0 GHz or a 2.2 GHz Dual Core) the ModBook comes with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, a hard drive ranging from 80 gigs to 320 gigs, depending on how much you want to spend, and 2 gigs of RAM. The tablet also comes with a remote and has a built in iSight camera and CD/DVD-Combo Drive.
The Tablet has just begun to ship, and the first orders are expected to arrive in about a week. Axiotron Inc, has stated they are completely swamped with orders, and its going to take them months to catch up with the demand. If you got $2,000 lying around, why not order yourself one for fun? Personally, I like the Tablet a lot beter than the MacBook Air.

I’m curious where you read/heard that Axiotron said they were swamped and it was going to take “months” to catch up… They have been decidedly tighted-lipped about the whole affair with consumers and it’s rather frustrating.

Please site your source. You deleted my first comment asking the same question. It’s not a modified MacBook Pro but a modified MacBook… and I’d like to know where you got the information that “Axiotron is completely swamped”

Amy,
I didn’t delete your first post, it was still in moderation, so it wasn’t posted yet. My source is the official support forums. Many users are asking for a black version of the tablet, but admins are saying that until they catch up with their orders, they won’t be making any changes to the tablet.
