You Don’t Have To Spend A Fortune To Make Your PC Immune To Malware — In Fact, It’s FREE!

If you’re not listening to the Security Now! podcast, you’re missing out on the best current information on PC security tips, trends, and software. I won’t try to summarize the latest and greatest piece of host-based security software, but I will say this: Blink is it — you don’t need anything else. Uninstall your antivirus. Turn off your firewall (maybe). Forget anti-spyware programs. Blink is a preemptive threat scanner that works at multiple levels and doesn’t rely solely on malware signatures; it looks for suspicious behaviours in network packets and acts accordingly. Therefore, it can detect and protect against vulnerablilites that aren’t even known about yet.
I’m testing it now. So far, it looks like the best solution available. And after listening to Security Now! episode #91, I’m convinced it is the best solution for everyone who owns a PC. Check it out.
Cheers!

I’ve been using Avira for awhile, and it’s a pretty good Virus scanner. It’s also the only free virus prog that is Vista compatible at the moment (which Blink is not by the way). When they make a free version for us crazy early adopters, then I’ll be glad to give it a try!
