Web based email is super popular these days, especially Gmail. One thing people may be concerned about is being secure while checking email, especially on open Wi-Fi networks. You can check your webmail in a secure environment with ease. If a website contains “http://” it is not secure. When the url contains “https://” you are on a secure site. There will be a “lock” icon in your browser somewhere, depending on what you use. When you want to check your Gmail, in your address bar enter “https://mail.google.com” and login to your account. Once you are logged in there should be a “lock” icon in your browser and you are in a secure session.

Kids, get ready for another way for portable audio and it doesn’t involve a music store, satellite, or even a computer. Torian Wireless has released the InFusion, a WiFi (802.11b) internet radio player. The device plays any streaming internet radio station, has a built in FM tuner, and can capture streams in MP3. So know when you are at a hotspot you can roam the world of internet radio. Exiting, right?
