We get a look at Samsung’s WiMax-enabled UMPC, the SPH-P9200, as well as their Giorgio Armani cell phone. The UMPC folds up to about the size of two decks of cards, and yet when unfolded, gives you a full keyboard to type on. The Giorgio Armani phone tries to take on the iPhone with it’s touchscreen goodness, which even vibrates when tapped in an attempt to provide a bit of tactile feedback to the “button-less” screen.

I’ve seen the orginal p 9000 and this model looks even better! I only hope they enable people in the US to buy one! While we do not have WIMAX in the US; we also do not have a computer with a touch type keyboard that runs Windows XP or any desktop OS that can fold and fit in a jacket pocket! That is why I would buy one right now given the chance.
I hope more of the new UMPC or MID devices in 2008 get a clue from Samsung. Business users and the mainstream do not want a thumb keyboard or pen input; we want a touch type keyboard just like we are used to and prefer with our laptops and desktops. Is that so hard to understand?

I agree this is the perfect computer for a sales rep like me whom travels often and does not want to lug a laptop. I hope they start selling them in the US soon?
