My headphones don't need much power but as an amplifier it does add quite a bit of fidelity to my audio. I have the advantages of the entire A40 system with just the mixamp but with the ability to use my own pair of headphones and my own microphone. As far as 5.1 emulation goes, I really couldn't ask for more. Definately better than getting a proprietary 5.1 headphone system like Trittons which cram tiny dingy speakers in your ear. Dolby headphone emulation is far superior. Its like a gamers audio/communication swiss army knife in terms of possible uses.
