Gish Mobile Game On Its Way

Pixalon Studios, an independent mobile games and applications developer, and GlobalFun, a leading developer and publisher of mobile games, announced today the worldwide launch of the upcoming mobile game Gish, distributed exclusively by GlobalFun.

Gish is the mobile version of the successful independent PC game of the same name, developed by Cryptic Sea and winner of several gaming awards including “IGF Innovation in Game Design” award and “IGF Grand Prize” award. The mobile version is being developed by Erphenic Studios and Hardwire, and published by Pixalon Studios.

“Gish presents a fresh new concept in mobile gaming and sets new benchmarks for gameplay and technology. We are very happy to cooperate with a top class distributor like GlobalFun, to bring our game to a global mobile audience,” says Jakub Mikyska, Head of Pixalon Studios.

Gish uses a unique physics engine, which gives the main character an organic feel and allows interactions between game objects in a way never seen before on a mobile. In his quest, Gish will have to go through over 100 levels, including 45 Bluetooth multiplayer levels (cooperative, deathmatch and race modes), 5 playground bonus levels and 9 boss battles.

“The original PC version has been a milestone in computer games and more than an inspiration for quite a few recent games on varous platforms. Conversions from one platform to another are not always successful but in this case it definitely is! The mobile version features engaging, fun and addicting game-play together with a host of added functionalities and it really is one of the most feature-complete games out there. I feel strongly that Gish will be a success for all parties involved and many industry insiders, having had seen the early demo version, have expressed the same excitement about it.” commented Massimo Caporale, Head of Content, GlobalFun AB.

The Gish mobile game will be released globally mid Q1 2009.

Will they be releasing mobile games for the krave? Ever since I started working with Motorola I have become a huge fan of the phone. It’s got a full touch screen so i’m interested to see how gameplay would work with that. If you haven’t seen it yourself log on to motorola.com It is definitely at the top of my list right now.
