Hey, Chris!
First of all I’d like to thank you for taking the time to read this. I just recently started watching your YouTube videos and find them amusing and, most important, some of the most informative I’ve seen in a long time.
I’m a newish Mac user and enjoy everything about it. I also have an Xbox 360 that I enjoy. One reason I’ve always been envious of Windows users is Windows Media Center and how it uses the 360 as a media extender. Today I was thinking about how great it would be to share my MacBook media with my TV via the 360.
I’m not sold on the Apple TV, plus I have this $400 dollar machine that is capable of sharing media if only I had the right OS. I started searching for applications that would make this possible (and work correctly) and I came up with an application called Connect360. You can download the application for free, but it limits you to 100 songs, 100 photos, etc. The full version is $20.00, and I will buy it tonight.
I am new to computer stuff but it was so easy to make work. As soon as I installed it, all I did was turn my 360 on, go to the media screen, press the X button (find other sources), and my iTunes library, iPhoto, movies — everything worked right away! I didn’t go througj Media Center on the 360, but still it’s a great alternative. The 360 is hooked up through my AirPort Extreme via ethernet cable, and my laptop is on wireless.
