Harry Potter Game For Mobile Phones Coming Soon

Electronic Arts Inc., and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution today announced the forthcoming release of the Harry Potter Mastering Magic mobile game. This brand new game, published by EA Mobile, will appeal to Harry Potter fans everywhere, as they have the chance to experience the magical world of Hogwarts on the go this holiday season in Europe and in North America from January 2008.

Set against the backdrop of Harry Potter’s fifth year of study at Hogwarts, the Harry Potter Mastering Magic mobile game allows players to enter the world of wizardry and experience the magic of the school. Playing as Harry, Ron or Hermione, players attend classes to learn Herbology, Charms, Astronomy, Potions and more, striving to earn O.W.L. grades and win the coveted Studious Success Cup. Players can practice classes and complete exams, while tracking their progress and perfecting their wizarding skills.

“We designed Harry Potter Mastering Magic specifically for mobile to bring a unique Harry Potter game experience to millions of Potter fans who are looking for that Hogwarts fix on the go,” said Travis Boatman, vice president worldwide studios at EA Mobile. “We worked very hard to create a challenging and enjoyable game set within the visually rich Harry Potter universe. The game also serves as a great first mobile game experience for those who haven’t tried one before.”

“Following up on the success of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix mobile game, we are excited to bring a new and unique Harry Potter experience to the platform,” said Anthony Campagna, Director, Wireless Business Development, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. “The scope of the franchise and our relationship with EA allows us to create new Harry Potter experiences for our loyal fans.”

Harry Potter Mastering Magic is developed at EA Mobile’s Romanian Studio and produced by EA Mobile’s UK Studio. The mobile game is available now for purchase and play from major wireless carriers in Europe and is rolling out worldwide in the coming weeks.
