ClickBeat, a free music based game, is now available for download! The game is ready for everyone to play and give us suggestions for improvement.

ClickBeat is a music based skill game where you click to circles in time with a piece of music. The game records how good your timing is with each click, as well as a final grade at the end of the music. If you’ve played on a dance mat arcade machine you’ll get the idea really quickly.

“We wanted to make a free game around which a small community could be built,” says Andy Yates, Co-Founder of ThePhorse Software. “However, neither Steve or myself are artists so we decided to do something which combined our strengths. ClickBeat was a perfect project in that respect.”

Steve Velma also commented on the scripting side of ClickBeat - this allows users to create their own “levels” to whatever music they want. “The completely original script language of ClickBeat makes it easy to put music into the game” says Steven; “It is versatile and powerful to support all kinds of background animation from cartoons to lightshows.”
