Hundreds of jumping, orange jack-o’-lanterns are popping up all over the world at an alarming rate. What on earth is happening? Is this the invasion we have been expecting or some freakish pumpkin awakening? Either way, run for the hills!
It is Friday the 13th and something horrific is spreading across the Internet. Dallas-based game creator Blockdot has released Bashing Pumpkins, an online game featuring everyone’s favorite seasonal gourd, the pumpkin.
The game is simple yet strangely addicting. Players must attempt to chase down the hopping, jumping, and parachuting pumpkins before they move off screen. The settings in which the action takes place are extremely humorous and reminiscent of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
“The game is not brain surgery,” says game designer Dan Ferguson. “It is great way to celebrate the upcoming Halloween season and an obvious attempt at reducing the productivity levels of our nation’s workforce.”
Keep an eye out for a special guest appearance from everyone’s favorite dictator and pumpkin fan, Kim Jong-Il.
The free game is available on Blockdot’s game portal.
