RC Time Trial

Hey, let’s talk bus transportation for a moment. How did a greyhound, a fast animal, become the mascot for a lethargically slow bus line? For accuracy’s sake, its buses should have paraplegic snails painted on them. Okay. We’re done.

Today’s featured game is RC Time Trial. In this radio-controlled car you sputter and chug your way through two different courses. At the beginning of the game you get to build your car from the frame up. There are three different bodies, engines, antennae, wheels, and tailpipes to select from. This is a time trial, so you’re charged with getting through the routes quickly. The faster you are, the more likely a place on the high-score board will be yours. You control your car with the easy-to-learn arrow keys.

Fantabulous graphics impress, but the RC car feels like it’s slugging its way through three feet of snow. Even with the slow-motion racing, though, this is a playable and entertaining game. Some opponents would have made RC Time Trial more exciting, but rendering more cars might have made the race even slower.
