In today’s appropriately titled game, Race Game, you fight to gain the lead against six rainbow-colored opponents. Sugar-encrusted cereals don’t have marshmallows as brightly colored as these cute compacts.

There are five races of seven laps each to get through before you can claim your trophy. In each race, your starting position is in the lamentable last position. This game may look cute, but it’s not going to make winning easy. You steer your darling roadster with your arrow keys.

No. The graphics aren’t splashed with the oil grime of a professional racing game. Race Game is an arcade race, not a simulator. The graphics are bright and cute, and the cars look like something a Care Bear would drive. Which really doesn’t make any difference to us providing the gameplay is acceptably entertaining. The gameplay is what matters, right? Well. We’re happy to report that the game delivers.
