BreakAway Ltd., a leading independent developer of serious and entertainment software today announced that Deborah Tillett, BreakAway’s president, will speak at the Women in Games Conference on steps her company has taken to strike the right balance between home and work; ensuring happy, productive employees.

The 3rd Annual Women in Games Conference is being held July 10th and 11th at the University of Teesside in the United Kingdom. The Women in Games Conference empowers professional development for women working in and researching games and the games industry.

BreakAway has grown from a small single studio to one that employs 95 developers and business administrative personnel. Over the last two years BreakAway has opened studios in Austin and Corpus Christi, Texas and continues to grow steadily. Deborah will speak on the importance of creating and maintaining a family friendly environment for her employees including, family play dates, throwing parties to celebrate employee’s special occasions and hiring baby sitters to reward employees for their hardwork among many other benefits catered to the employees and their families.

Deb is a technology industry veteran with over 25 years in strategic marketing, product branding and operations expertise and has been asked to speak at numerous conferences on quality of life issues in the gaming industry. She is a member of external board for University of Maryland Baltimore County’s Center for Women in Information Technology and serves on the advisory board for the College of Business and Economics at Towson University. Deb was recently honored with Towson University’s Distinguished Alumni and Dean’s Recognition Award and was named one of the Daily Record’s Innovator’s of the Year for 2004. She holds a BA degree from Towson University and an MBA from Loyola College’s Sellinger School of Business.
