The Joystick Junkies Finals!

Joystick Junkies, the British fashion label, which is inspired by the world’s most famous video games has announced ten girls who have made it through to the finals in their search for Britain’s most charismatic girl gamers.

The final six chosen after voting closes on the 23rd June will be signed up to represent Joystick Junkies for their Autumn-Winter and Spring-Summer 2007 collections. Their work will include working on the Spring-Summer 2007 fashion shoot, photographs for an exhibition, taking part in catwalk shows, conducting interviews with magazines, hosting a season of cool gaming events and a new series of glamorous Joystick Junkies parties.

Over 300 fashionable pixelantes applied to be Joystick Junkies and extensive castings were held over the last few weeks to figure out who had the looks, the gaming passion, and the understanding of the Joystick Junkies fashion brand.

Joystick Junkies needed girls who could cut it on the catwalk and in front of a camera, as much as they shared our passion for video games so this week sees the last of the final tests.

The girls have taken part in photoshoots to test their ability on camera, been interviewed by the team and this week have to play a series of video games against each other including Halo 2, Burnout Revenge, Street Fighter 2 and Gauntlet. We’ll be looking to see who can play, whether they give as good as they get and whether they can work together as a team on Gauntlet, one of the classic games featured in the current Joystick Junkies fashion range.

The six Joystick Junkies will be launched at a special event on Friday July 7th.
