Disc Golf

We’ll have to admit it, in his day the Gamespotter was a pretty good disc golf player, like national tournament good. But alas aging shoulders and disc golf don’t go together. So imagine the delight at discovering a Web game of the rather obscure sport of disc golf.
Brought to us by our friends at MiniClip the game is simply named Disc Golf. This a pseudo 3-D virtual disc golf game that does a pretty good job of emulating the game, except for the torn rotator cuff part. You have get your disc from the tee to the basket in as few throws as possible while avoiding obstacles such as trees, trash cans, and water hazards. The virtual course is a challenging 18 hole par 54. But par won’t get you onto the leader board, will it?
You have a choice of using one of four disc that you can choose for their flight characteristics. You can use the “hyser” disc for tight left or right hand shots, a flat disc for drives, and a putter for shooting straight shots around the basket. Knowing the discs and how to aim them around and over hazards is the key to the game. Making a few fifty-foot putts doesn’t hurt, either!
We like this game because it brings the sport of disc golf to the computer screen. We’ve been waiting for years for a good disc golf game. Now if we could only achieve our former glory.
