nbsp;EBGames.com and GameStop.com now have listings for several different Xbox live Gold packages. If you’ll recall, every Xbox owner will get Xbox Live Silver out of gate, which will give access to the marketplace and downloadable content, but in order to join in on the frag fest of Halo 2, one needs to obtain an Xbox Live Gold membership, and this is being offered in several flavors:
According to both online retailers, a one-month subscription will cost $7.99 - a $2 hike over the current rate. The next level will cost you $19.99, but you’ll get three months of Xbox Live Gold. After that there’s the bundle (labeled “Value Pak” by EBGames and “Gold Kit” by GameStop) which will cost you $39.99 but will land you three months of service, a headset, a $10 rebate on an Xbox game, a copy of Joust from Xbox Live arcade, and 100 marketplace points.
Finally, there’s the $49.99 package which will net you a full years subscription on GameStop, and 13 months on EBGames. Both packages also include a headset, 200 marketplace points, and a $20 game rebate. EBGames is offering the Billiards Xbox Live arcade game, while GameStop is offering the Joust Xbox Live arcade game.
These prices aren’t that different from the current Xbox Live prices, with only a slight increase in price overall.
