Soul Calibur III Details

Ah, Famitsu, where would we be without you? Thanks to an article in Famitsu we now know the exact date for the release of Soul Calibur III: October 25 in the states, and November 24 in Japan. There will also be four additional characters that will be returning from the previous games: Maxi, Seong Mi-na, Xiagnhua, and Yun-Sung.

Soul Calibur III will feature a Battle Arena mode which will allow players to create fights based on special conditions. The game will also feature a coin collector mode where players must collect as many coins as they can by attacking opponents - every hit will result in the enemy dropping a certain number of coins.

In Soul Squash mode the laws of physics are adjusted which allows attacks to knock victims back a much farther distance. This will knock the enemy into a wall which is the only way to cause any pain.

There will also be a status dance mode where the player must fight against a large stone statue which is much larger than the player’s character. The player must use his agility to in order to beat the statue.

Finally, there’s “wisp shoot” where players can only cause damage with the classic “soul charge” attacks the game is popular for.
