Bungie Lays Down The Banhammer

The latest Halo 2 update, also known as banhammer, is causing quiet a stir in the Halo 2 community, as people who exploited the game during online play – such as passing flags through walls, and jumping clear across the map – have been banned.

The latest update – fourth of its kind, and required for online play – is the first step Bungie has taken against the cheaters, and bans them from online play, permanently.

Bungie has made their feelings on moded content in online gaming very clear. A statement on their website reads: “It ruins the experience for legitimate players, and is almost universally used to cheat. If you want to play modded content with your friends, do it on System Link. If you log into Live, you’re banned. You’ve been warned.”
