The MTV special that shows off the X-Box 360 won’t air until Thursday; but, it was actually taped last Thursday. So, in this digital age, it came to be that some people who attended the event managed to take a few pictures of the new X-Box. Meanwhile, the technical specifications for the new X-Box have been leaked, but these specs have yet to be validated. Still, it’s interesting to see what the future may hold.

Gamespot has a brief article on the leaked pictures. From what I can tell, this version appears to be slightly thinner than the original X-Box, and takes a page out of the Apple color playbook: white. From my black television and DVD player, to my black Gamecube and Playstation 2, this new X-Box is going to stick out like a sore thumb, but if the leaked specifications are true, this might be one eyesore I can live with.

Activewin has provided the leaked specs, and, boy, this console looks like a monster in the making. If the spec sheet is real, and the box performs up to its potential, then the X-Box 360 could do some serious damage to Sony and Nintendo. Included are specifications for the new X-Box Live subscription model: two packages (silver and gold) with different features.

Between this, the Nintendo Revolution, and Sony’s Playstation 3, I can not wait for E3. Bring on the media hype!
