Square Enix’s E3 Lineup

  • No Related Post

I am a huge Square Enix fan due to the many hours of my life I have given to them by playing the games in the Final Fantasy series. So has this year’s lineup of games to appear at E3 got me excited yet?

Well, not a whole lot. For some reason I am still left with the feeling of wanting a little more from them. I’m afraid though this is all I am getting.

From 1UP.com I learned that these titles should be set to make an appearance at E3 this year. For the PS2 there is Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, Final Fantasy XII, Fullmetal Alchemist II: Curse of the Crimson Elixir, Kingdom Hearts II, Radiata Stories, Romancing SaGa, Front Mission Online.

For the PC there is Final Fantasy XI and Front Mission Online. Then finally for the mobile game market there is Final Fantasy VII: Before Crisis, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy VII Snowboarding, Front Mission 2089, Musashi Mobile Samurai.

Wait a minute, Final Fantasy VII Snowboarding? Is it not bad enough that I seem to be the only guy out there who isn’t a big fan of Final Fantasy VII? Do you have to mock me by putting them in an SSX-type snowboarding game? If I was not such a big fan of Square Enix, I’d say they are just trying to milk that cow as much as they can before it runs dry.

Final Fantasy XII is the one I am really looking forward to seeing though. Thanks to the Online diversion it has been a long time since I played a good Final Fantasy role-playing game.

I can only play Final Fantasy X so many times before I realize that it is wrong to think of Rikku as an object of my affection and that Titus is a wimpy little girly man with bad highlights. Come on Square Enix, give me some of that old fantastic RPG action like you used to. I am like a bad junky that needs his turn-based fix.
