During his keynote speech at the Game Developers Conference, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata disclosed some juicy information about the future of the company. Iwata revealed that the company’s next-gen console, code-named Revolution, will feature built-in wireless support and that both ATI and IBM are hard at work developing both the Hollywood graphics chip and the Broadway process (nice code-names). It was also revealed that Revolution will be backward compatible with GameCube titles.
Iwata also announced that the Nintendo DS will go online through a free online network that will also be used with the Revolution console. The service will let users connect and play against each other from various hot-spots. More info pertaining to the network will be unveiled in May at E3.
