Was Mario a Communist?

I have to say I do see a lot of odd things when randomly surfing Online. You know that time where your not really looking for anything, just typing in odd phrases into Google and looking for something to catch your eye and rescue you from your bordom. Well, that is how I stumbled apon the Web site the claims the Super Mario we all know and love might of been a communist.

The whole story behind the events is really amusing, and heck it even got me to thinking. You know I never thought that Mario and Joseph Stalin looked the same till now.

But aside from the slightly racist stereotyping of Mario and Luigi as food loving, NY fat bodies with ridiculous Italian accents, was there anything really insidious behind the scenes?
