Fight Night Round Two!

I was a big fan of last year’s EA Fight Night 2004. Then again, I am a pretty big boxing fan in general. Even with the sport in a spot right now where not many folks are watching anymore, it is still exciting to me. Not so much because of the titles, because these days everybody has at least ten of them. The exciting thing to see is, pure and simple, the fighting. This year, EA is doing it again in the video game world with EA Fight Night, Round Two!

One of the more exciting features for this year’s game is being able to control your cut man in the corner. You are able to take an active role in recovering after a round by stopping the bleeding or swelling on your boxer. It will be nice to see how this feature plays out in the actual game. Will it be a cool new innovation or just an annoying mini game?

The cover man this year is the undisputed middle weight champion, Bernard Hopkins. Of course, last year’s contender for the cover was Roy Jones Jr, and he didn’t exactly have the best year of boxing in his life. Could the cover of Fight Night be cursed? Guess we won’t be able to tell till we can see where Bernard Hopkins is in the sport in 2006.

EA’s Web site for the game is pretty awesome as well. It gives you a countdown clock for the game’s release. Also you are able to download videos, music, screen shots and more for the new game. Are you ready to rumble? I know I am.

What Do You Think?
