Sony has confirmed that five PSP titles will be online at launch. The titles are; Gretzky NHL, Twisted Metal: Head-On, MBL, NBA and ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin’ Trails. According to GameSpot, the games will feature two wireless modes, which are ad-hoc and infrastructure. The ad-hoc mode will be used for local play while infrastructure will be utilized for online play.

GameSpot also pointed out that the PSP will be the first console/handheld to launch with full online implementation. The Sega Dreamcast and Xbox both launched with built-in modems, but the systems only officially went online a year after being introduced.
