The European version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will feature some extra content that wasn’t included in the North American and Japanese versions. The PAL adaptation of the title will offer the new Dual and Demo game types along with a new difficulty setting dubbed European Extreme. Also, the European version will include two new levels in the Snake Vs Monkey mode. The game is set for a March 4th release.
Scheduled for release on PlayStation 2 on March 4th, 2005, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is already one of the most anticipated games of the year. Set in the 1964, the game is centered in the escalating Cold War, with central hero Snake armed with weapons of the era and charged with recovering a defecting scientist. To this end, series creator and Director Hideo Kojima has moved away from the urban environments of the game’s predecessors and has created a lush jungle setting.
In addition to the new environments, Kojima has packed the game with a wealth of new gameplay features. The ‘Camouflage Index’ lets players change Snake’s costume and face paint to match the surrounding area and help evade discovery, while a stunning CQC (Close Quarters Combat) system empowers him with a range of new, offensive moves. This new system facilitates the most advanced hand-to-hand combat techniques in the series to date, with Snake using guards as shields, throwing them or simply rendering them unconscious.
