If it wasn’t for the folks over at PopCap Games, I would have nothing to do to kill the time of the day where there is nothing much to do but trim my toenails. Now instead of pulling out the old faithful toe nail clippers, I can play a few addictive and fun games. All of their games are free to play Online, which is always a good thing. If you find yourself becoming too addicted, then you could also purchase them for offline use as well. Most of them are cheap as well, so that is always a good thing. Which ones are the best? Well here is my own personal top five favorite PopCap games.
Insaniquarium
If you ever had a pet fish when you were young, Insaniquarium is the game for you. It is part puzzle game and part simulation. The goal of the game is to micro-manage a small farm of fish that poop out money once they get large enough to do so. After that you can use that money to purchase more things for your fish tank, or to purchase an egg piece. Once you purchase three egg pieces, then you move on to the next round. Yeah, didn’t I ever tell you I was a big fan of the odd and unusual? I didn’t even mention anything about the fish eating aliens.
Ever wanted to mix your love for the Aztec Indians and marbles? Now that dream can become a reality. Explore all the tribes and temples you can, while you try to line up marbles of the same color to make them go away. If all your marbles go down the hole? Then you loose a life. Loose three lives, and you have lost the game. Honestly though, I do have to say this is a very original game and more addictive than I thought it would be. Who knew shooting marbles out of a stone frog’s mouth could be so fun?
If greed is good, Big Money is even better. This game did not make a lot of sense to me at first. As usual though, I was thinking about it a little too hard and missed the fact that it is a very simple game! All you need to do is match up coins of the same color. Get enough of those coins, and a money bag will fall down. Collect a certain number of money bags, and you move on to the next level. Nice game, and it didn’t even cost me a dime to play.
I am not really much of a space fan. Never got into the Star Trek or Star Wars thing, I just like to look at the sky at night and wonder. Never the less, Astro Pop is my second favorite game PopCap put out. Think of it as breakout with a space man. Boldly break blocks like they have never been broke before!
Yeah, you knew it was coming. We have all played the original Bejeweled, or a knock off some other Web site was trying to push down your throat. Nothing beats the innovators, and Bejeweled 2 is a worthy sequel. As addicting as the first, Bejeweled 2 has you lining up gems in rows of three or more all over again. This time around they have added a few extra perks for those of you who can get four or more jewels lined up.
PopCap has many other free Online games for you to play as well. These are only my personal favorites. Feel like one you love should have been on the list, or do you have another game Web site for me to take a look at? Let me know! I’ll be more than happy to kill a little time with some good and free Online games.
