This Week’s Hot Game: ‘Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal’

The Seattle PI reports that Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, is without a doubt, the hot game of the week. I would challenge that and say this it could be the hot game of the month.

I’ve played this game many times over at my brothers home. Folks, it is just plain fun. Something cool is always going on, you are not likely to find a game that meets with this sort of quality anywhere else.

“Ratchet and Clank” is all about guns. Lots and lots of guns. I came to rely on my trusty shock blaster for tight spots because it does a great deal of damage at close range.

I was split between two favorites, though: the “Agents of Doom” gun sends forth a group of mini robots exploding into your enemies, while the “Gadgetron Suck Cannon” inhales smaller foes like a vacuum cleaner and spits them out like a shotgun.

Some weapons are only accessible in the game’s excellent, broadband-only online modes. Between all the jumping, shooting and dodging, there are some nice diversions that keep “Ratchet and Clank” from getting repetitive: Ratchet’s “VG-9000″ video game system features old-fashioned, side-scrolling mini games and laugh-out-loud moments. Rated T for crude humor, fantasy violence.
