How to use an Xbox Controller as a USB PC Gamepad

  • No Related Post

And they said it would never be done! This article shows you how to use an Xbox controller on your PC via a USB connection! Pretty cool, huh? The only thing that really strikes me is, why the Xbox controller?

What is the real advantage between this and one you buy ready to go for your USB needs? To me it seems a little overboard. Regardless, it is a cool idea and certainly worth a read.

Just like I am an obsessed casemodder I also love to play games, I usually play FPS games but now and then I like to play something else. When I bought Tony Hawk Underground 2 the game simply wasn’t playable with a mouse and keyboard so I needed a gamepad. I had a lot of consoles but I like the Xbox controller the most of all, however that is a personal preference. The big plus of an Xbox is that it is in fact an extremely modded pc, well in my eye’s it is. So if you know how to strip and solder a few wires you can get your Xbox controller to work on your pc, here’s how we do it.

All you need to do to use xbox controllers on yous P.C is download the drivers from microsoft a quick searh should find these.

Install the drivers

Plug your controller into your pc it will now auto fint the new device and away you go.

will only work with xp service pack 2 or higher

Not sure if it works with vista as yet.

I bought a USB 360 controller to use on my pc (specifically for Assassins creed) and took no time to get the drivers, then for the next christmas I got a 360, and can use it on there too. Deffinately my favourite gamepad, hasnt put a foot wrong and is easy to use on both pc and console!
