Blue Tongue Entertainment, known for game creation for a number of next-gen consoles, has been bought out by THQ here recently. A sign that gaming is still in a holding pattern with two steps away from insane success, I am sure that THQ is very happy with their purchase.
What about Blue Tongue Entertainment though? I wonder how this ‘really’ affects them. Take overs are always difficult and I would not wish one on anyone. No matter how much they may tick me off. ;o)
Calabasas-based THQ has acquired game developer Blue Tongue Entertainment. Blue Tongue is an Australian-based firm which recently developed THQ’s Polar Express for PlayStation 2, PC, and Nintendo Gamecube systems. THQ already operates game development resources in Australia, and the acquisition will give it sites in both Brisbane and Melbourne. Terms were not disclosed. THQ said that Blue Tongue is currently in development of two additional cross-platform releases for 2005.
