Sorry GameCubers, looks like you no longer are the only ones with access to the Resident Evil 4 game according to Spong. It looks as if this could be an indication that other games may also follow in this direction.

My first thoughts on the matter came about when Xbox was given access to the GTA game series not too long back. I assume that Sony released Rockstar Games from whatever contract so that they could offer games to competing consoles.

At the annual games industry drinking competition that is the Golden Joystick Awards, held last night in fashionable London town, someone after perhaps a few too many shandies let slip to SPOnG that Resident Evil 4, the former GameCube exclusive, will be making its way to Xbox following the revelation last week that a PlayStation 2 version is underway.

“Resident Evil 4 will also be coming out on Xbox. About the same time as the PlayStation 2 release in just short of a year’s time,” we were told, confirming our news from earlier this week that additional versions will not see the light of day for a considerable amount of time.
